Verhildersum Estate Leens
The estate’s stately home, in the Groningen area known as a Borg, sits at the heart of the estate like a shining diamond. Over the centuries several families resided in the borg - the last one until 1953. They adapted and modernized it according to their wishes, so over time the home has seen various changes, both inside and out. Today it offers a peek into life on a 19th century estate. The borg tells the story of the Van Bolhuis-Frima family, who lived there in the second half of the 19th century. It’s as if the residents have just stepped out and could walk back in again any minute.
Thanks to the Hinszorgel Leens Foundation the hall now boasts a chamber organ, which is regularly played. For more information: http://www.orgelnieuws.nl/borg-verhildersum-leens-heeft-weer-een-orgel/
