Our collections
Verhildersum owns three museum collections:
The Borg Collection
A collection of furniture, paintings and everyday objects, mainly dating from the beginning of the 19th century. Apart from these it also contains objects from surrounding borgs and objects from Verhildersum’s original interior. The major part of this collection was donated or purchased, but there are also objects on loan from the Groninger Museum. The objects from the surrounding borgs are of great historical value for the province of Groningen.
Agriculture and crafts
This is a very extensive collection, consisting of objects pertaining to agriculture and crafts in their broadest sense.
Textile collection
Our textile collection consists mainly of garments in so-called Groninger Dracht and provides a good example of how people dressed in the period 1775-1875. It is the most extensive and most important collection of Groninger Dracht garments.
